UV rays continuously damage the skin, making it important to reapply sunscreen periodically. But how often should it really be repeated?
Why is reapplication necessary?
-
Physical and chemical breakdown
Sunlight, sweating, water, and friction gradually reduce the effectiveness of sunscreen, so the level of protection can significantly weaken after just 2 hours.
-
The continuous effect of UV rays
With every outing, UV rays continue to arrive. Protection cannot be deployed as a one-time "resistance." Continuous means that you need to reapply approximately every 2 hours to maintain the sunscreen's effectiveness.
-
Beach, pool, sports
If we swim, sweat, or towel off, sunscreen can easily come off. In such cases, it should be reapplied immediately after water exposure or sweating, ideally after drying hands.
