.. The skin can be affected by many factors that are not necessarily beneficial to it.
Why and what causes the skin color to change?
The skin color can change for various reasons. These include sunlight (this can be exacerbated in cases of sensitivity or predisposition), polluted air, smoking, and alcohol consumption, as well as certain hormonal and chronic disorders.
Many people are now aware of the thinning of the ozone layer and the various problems associated with it. Following the depletion of the ozone layer, cases of skin cancer have significantly increased. In Hungary, this has resulted in a 50% increase by 2023 compared to the previous year. This layer prevents sunlight from directly reaching people. The thinning and perforation of this layer, which prevents harmful rays from entering the atmosphere, causes higher exposure to the sun's harmful rays.< The sun's certain rays cause the skin to dry out and damage it, leading to changes in skin color and the appearance of pigment spots. Unprotected and prolonged sun exposure causes problems for all skin types. We discuss the harmful effects of this in almost every article, as it is very important to be aware of it.
Does air pollution effectively change skin color?
Another cause of skin changes is polluted air. Polluted air causes the skin to wear, yellow, and fade, which is why proper protection for the skin is very important. The skin can be protected from polluted air with creams and moisturizers that protect the skin layer, as well as through daily, thorough facial cleansing.
Smoking and alcohol consumption also cause significant changes in skin color. If cigarette smoke mixes with the blood, it reduces the oxygen level in the blood with long-term use. The blood cells that transport oxygen to the cells become depleted and change over time. This prevents oxygen from reaching the skin and other organs. The oxygen-deprived skin eventually loses its firmness, density, becomes dry, and can lead to premature aging, along with the appearance of spots. As the liver, which produces blood cells and healthy cells, is damaged during alcohol consumption, it manifests on the skin in the form of pigment spots. Chronic diseases such as diabetes also alter the color of the skin.
What should be done to improve skin color?
Treating pigmented spotty skin is a task that requires patience. Skincare must be performed regularly, without neglect, and factors that cause skin deterioration must be recognized and avoided. The condition of spotty skin can improve, for example, with the regular use of skin lightening products. These products penetrate the skin, allowing it to be cleansed, to breathe, and to be replenished with oxygen. Some inhibit the production of melanin, or pigment, while certain products can achieve the desired result by exfoliating the skin's surface.
Regularity
One of the most important things to do in this case is to use the products with sufficient patience and regularity, as this is the only way we can achieve a change. After that, it is worth observing how the spots on the skin were formed as a result of certain processes. Generally, you can never go wrong with AHA acids (glycolic acid, lactic acid, mandelic acid), as they can achieve skin lightening by exfoliating the skin's surface.Of course, the aforementioned pigment-inhibiting products are also essential in such a skincare routine, and it is advisable to use both together. We must not forget about regular and high SPF sun protection. The Maruderm offers numerous solutions for these issues, which you can find in our webshop, such as the set designed for lightening pigment spots!
